New Dice Comparator

Hi everyone!

I have just changed the design of this blog: I have moved the posts' tags and the archive to the bottom of the page so I can change the blog design to one column.

I have made those changes because I wanted to add a new page to this blog. I believe this page will be very useful for everyone who wants to know if a certain weapon or spell they are creating is overpowered.

I have created a dice combinations comparator!

As you may know, the base game comes with the following type of dice:

  • 2 yellow dice showing 0 and 1 faces
  • 2 orange dice showing 1 and 2 faces
  • 1 red die showing 0, 1, 2 and 3 faces
  • 1 blue (or purple) die showing 2 or 3 faces

All weapons, spells or monsters from the base game and its expansion sets use these dice to decide how many Hit Points of damage they do.

When you are designing a new card, you often ask yourself if the dice combinationyou pretend to use will not be too much overpowered for the level you have chosen for that item. Sometimes you want to compare certain dice combinations to see which one is more convenient to that new item. Sometimes you just want to know how much powerful is a certain type of monster.

Now you can know in a few clicks.

Comparision between 2 orange dice and 1 yellow die plus 1 blue die.

This dice comparator contains three differenciated sections:

  1. Color picker:: Here you can choose which color will be used for the next dice combination added to the graph on the right side.
  2. Dice combination picker: Here you will find listed all the possible dice combinations ordered by damage capacity. You can add or remove dice combinations from the graph on the right side.
  3. The graph: Here you can find the probabilities of each dice combination in its chosen color. In its vertical axis you can see the propability for each result from 0 to 1 (100%); in its horizontal axis you can see all possible results (from 0 to 12 at most).

I hope you like it and you find it usefull for your new creations.

The next change to be implemented in this blog will be a new page which shows a table with all cards from this game so you can order them by level, power, attack type, etc.

Thanks once more for reading this blog.
